Birdseed Wreaths
Basic white or egg bread dough
2 eggs whipped with 2 Tbls water
Bird seed (millet mix works best)
String or ribbon for hanging wreath
Separate bread dough into bread sticks 12" long and about the width of an adult's thumb. Brush with egg mixture and roll firmly into bird seed. Shape into ovals, circles, hearts, or any other fun shapes making sure to pinch and sealing ends well. Place on a baking sheet, and bake at 350 degrees for about 12-15 minutes. When cooled, hang wreaths on branches of trees with string or ribbon.
Suet-seed Oranges
Oranges
1 1/2 lb Suet
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup cracked corn kernals
Cut oranges in half and hollow out (use orange insides in a fruit or gelatin salad). Melt suet in saucepan over medim heat. When melted, take off heat and immediately stir in seeds and corn. Fill orange rind bowls, and let chill to set. When set, hang outside for birds.
