Autumn
September 20 - December 20
The Autumn Season starts during the Autumn Equinox (September 20th), and ends during the Winter Solstice (December 20th). I will be including ideas for Holiday's such as Halloween or Samhain, Mabon and Thanksgiving. Celebration activities include trick-or-treating, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, visiting haunted attractions, carving jack-o'-lanterns, reading scary stories, watching horror movies, paying respects to ancestors, friends, pets and other loved ones who have passed on, feasts, and giving thanks for the bounty in our lives.
Pumpkin Carving Tips
Instead of cutting the top off your Jack-O-Lantern and having to carefully place a lit candle down into the pumpkin, cut your opening on the bottom of the pumpkin, then place your lit candle on the bottom part, and set the body of the pumpkin over the top.
Kids too young to handle sharp instruments? Let them push in plastic pegs (like the ones from a Lite Brite), paint, or glue string, feathers, and other bits and pieces in to make their pumpkin's faces.
Sprinkle the inside of your pumpkin with cinnamon before placing your lit candle inside. Smells wonderful!!!
Popcorn Hands
Place one candy corn in the tip of each finger of a clear, plastic glove. Fill with popped corn and tie closed the opening. Put a plastic spider ring on the ring finger and watch any kid smile when receiving this as a Halloween treat.
