Emergency Preparedness

Every vehicle should have a 24 hour emergency kit in it. I find it easier to keep our car emergency kit in a large Rubbermaid tote. This way all the supplies stay together, wont get wet, are easy to get to , and are easy to remove from the vehicle and re-pack if needed. This is particulary nice to have on hand if you have children. With the spare change of clothes, extra diapers and formula, sewing kit, etc. your life will be a lot easier when an unexpected oops occurs away from home.

Each person in your household should have a 72 hour emergency kit. Backpacks are perfect to keep your supplies in because  they are easy to grab and go. To quickly see who each backpack belongs to, you can either add name tags or have each person's backpack be a different color.

If you are interested in stocking up your house for the purpose of beingprepared for long term emergencies an easy way to do this is by using the....Month to Month Storage
